The first Sunwing flight since 2013 from Toronto to Cienfuegos, Cuba, departed from Toronto Pearson International Airport today. The flight marks the beginning of the tour operator’s seasonal flights to Cienfuegos this winter, departing every Monday until April 22, 2019, inclusive. Sunwing is anticipated to be the only leisure carrier to offer a direct flight service from Toronto to Cienfuegos this year.

President of Tour Operations for Sunwing, Andrew Dawson, commented on the news, “We’re very excited to re-introduce flights from Toronto to Cienfuegos and provide our customers with opportunities to visit this beautiful Cuban destination. Our return to Cienfuegos highlights our commitment to providing Canadian travellers with the widest range of flights and destinations in Cuba than any other tour operator.”

Vacationers who visit Cienfuegos can choose to stay at Memories Trinidad del Mar, a beachfront resort recently added to Sunwing’s roster of hotels. Guests can cool off in two refreshing pools, enjoy complimentary non-motorized water sports and explore the nearby town of Trinidad, a recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site. Another great resort option is Club Amigo Ancon. Set on white-sand shores, travellers can look forward to comfortable accommodations – some with beautiful ocean views – and a range of water sports for all ages including complimentary catamaran rides and exceptional snorkelling in crystal clear waters.

All Sunwing vacation packages include return flights on Sunwing Airlines where passengers can sit back and relax while on board, with award-winning inflight service, complimentary non-alcoholic beverage service and buy on board selection of light meals and snacks with choices inspired by Food Network Canada Celebrity Chef, Lynn Crawford, including the brand-new Tex Mex Grilled Chicken Wrap and famous Mac & Cheese. Passengers also benefit from a generous complimentary 23kg checked luggage allowance.
